FAMEAIS Master Energ’AI project week in Grenoble

March 10th – 14th, 2025

The third cohort of FAMEAIS students gathered once again in Grenoble for a week of collaboration and innovation. This year’s theme remained “thermoelectricity.” Thirty first-year master’s students from Grenoble INP-UGA and TU Darmstadt were divided into seven groups, each tasked with creating a short video on the topic. Prior to this Get-together week, the students had already begun working remotely on their projects since the beginning of the semester.

The week kicked off with an introduction and a theoretical exam. Following that, the students worked, with the guidance of their mentors, to produce a video presenting their innovations in thermoelectricity. They had three days to finalize their projects.

On Thursday afternoon, students, supervisors, programme directors from the FAMEAIS consortium, and FAMEAIS staff gathered to watch the students’ videos. The presentations showcased the students’ creativity and originality, blending convincing arguments with humour and engaging content.

Afterward, two alumni—Elina from the 2019 intake and Elise from the 2017 intake—joined the group to share insights about their career paths. Their presentations were warmly received by the students, sparking numerous questions about careers and specific research topics.

The discussions continued during the coffee break, an informal opportunity for students to interact with the second-year programme directors and alumni.

The productive week concluded with a hike in the snowy mountains of Vercors. While the day was chilly, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the breathtaking snow-covered peaks, the waterfall, and a visit to the heritage museum in Villard-de-Lans.
